CISNT Enjoys More than 1,000 Mentors!
Just three short years ago, CISNT made a strategic commitment to build the best school-based mentoring program for kids who are at-risk of dropping out of school in Denton and Wise county school districts. This year, that dream has become reality. Over 1,000 volunteer mentors gave our CISNT students more than 14,500 hours of their lives this year.
Back in 2003, the small, but committed, army of CISNT mentors only numbered provided just over 5,000 hours of mentoring - but their impact was profound. Mentors from the Denton County District Attorney’s office, Rotarians, and business leaders from across the community. Their impact fueled the vision that led us to over 1,000 mentors.
The difference a single mentor makes is far greater than the sum of their hours. Our CISNT campus staff train, nurture and support these dedicated volunteers. Non-profit organizations like CISNT care about financial donations - the generosity of our donors make so many of our programs possible. But the people who commit to a year, two years and more - working with an at-risk child - make a life changing difference.
So where does CISNT’s mentoring program go next…
