Wise County United Way Saves CISNT Rhome program
The United Way of Wise County has come to the rescue of CISNT’s Chisholm Trail MS program that was closed earlier this month. I am completely humbled by the generosity of this great group of community leaders. When we met over lunch in Decatur this week I couldn’t help but be impressed with the passion the United Way of Wise County appropriations committee members have for the children of Wise County that CISNT seeks to serve.
This economy we’re all experiencing has placed an increased level of difficulty on the fund raising efforts of non-profit organizations like Communities In Schools of North Texas. But I saw first hand this week the power of the United Way. The ability to open doors, communicate need to the right people and the ability to act with speed. It’s why I have personally been a United Way supporter. When I worked at Price Waterhouse and Bank of America I had a sense that United Way understood the needs of the community. And they truly do.
To the board and volunteers of the United Way of Wise County, I say thank you - on behalf of the at-risk students at Chisholm Trail Middle School in Rhome Texas, thank you.
