Dropout Intervention

TARMAC Program

With intervention programs, CISNT specifically targets vulnerable populations such as teen parents, gang members, homeless students, students abusing drugs or alcohol, children of incarcerated parents, as well as others for services.  CISNT currently operates one dropout intervention program, TARMAC: Take Action, Reintegrate, Make A Change which serves students participating in the Denton County Juvenile Probation System.

In August 2007, the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission awarded the Denton County Juvenile Probation Department and CISNT two years of funding for intensive case management and mentoring programming for Lewisville students serving juvenile probation. The TARMAC program provides high school and middle school students in Lewisville ISD support as they re-enter their school from Denton County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Programs.  TARMAC Mentors, supported by the CISNT TARMAC Program Manager, are a critical component of the success of this program.  TARMAC Mentors not only build strong relationships with TARMAC students but they also provide critically needed academic support for TARMAC students during homework completion activities.

Ongoing funding support for the TARMAC program is a need at CISNT.   To discuss investing in this highly effective program, please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
