Mentoring Program

Our school-based mentoring program is the foundation to every dropout prevention program we operate at Communities In Schools of North Texas.  Our mentors generously donate one hour a week meeting with their mentee before, during or after school.  Always based at the student's school, CISNT's mentoring program provides the highest level of safety for the student, as well as the mentor.

The key to our success is the power in combining CISNT's case management process with school-based mentoring.  Each mentor has a CISNT Program Manager who is based at the school full time.  When our volunteer mentors uncover a need in their mentee's life, the mentor simply stops by the CISNT Program Manager's office to share the need.  Needs like eye glasses, clothing, food for the weekend, and often much deeper needs.

Communities In Schools of North Texas will start a new mentoring initiative called Get SMART on September 3, 3013. Click here to get more information.
