Ann Pape Wilson to step down as Chief Executive Officer at Communities In Schools of North Texas

(Lewisville, TX) Ann Pape Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT), announced in late June that she is stepping down from her current role after 10 years with the organization, 6 of which she served as CEO.

During her time as CEO, the organization grew tremendously and increased the depth and breadth of its work, expanding services and support through innovative programming. Under her leadership, CISNT initiated and sustained their Mental Health initiative, offering free clinical services to students on school campuses, and initiated and sustained a partnership with the National AmeriCorps program, creating an average of 75 positions of service for community members each year.

During Mrs. Pape Wilson’s tenure as CEO, CISNT saw immense growth in response to demand for services, increasing campuses served from 37 when she became CEO in 2016, to serving 56 campuses today, as well as achieving 64% growth in students served and 72% growth in total programs offered to partner campuses within 6 school districts across Denton, Wise, and Cooke Counties. CISNT also recently announced the receipt of a $3.3 million donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott in early 2022.

During her 17 years of nonprofit service in North Texas, Mrs. Pape Wilson served on numerous nonprofit boards and advisory councils, including serving as the President of the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce, President of Communities In Schools of Texas, Secretary for Rotary District 5790, member of the UNT Nonprofit Leadership Advisory Board Member, member of the Habitat for Humanity Family Services Advisory Board, member of the Lewisville Noon Rotary, and member of the DATCU Credit Union board.

Ann and her husband Mike have a 2-year-old son and are expecting twin boys in August. They will be relocating to the greater Austin area later this fall. “I have been truly blessed to serve with an amazing team of staff, volunteers, board members, and community stakeholders,” says Pape Wilson. “I’m so thankful for all of you and for the support you give to our amazing students.” Mrs. Pape Wilson’s last day will be August 31, 2022.

“Ann leaves the organization with a solid financial standing with strong systems, a dedicated Board, and an incredible team of employees,” says Carol Kyer, CISNT Board President. “We are well positioned for a transition to new leadership while preserving excellent services and programs of which our stakeholders rely on.”

The CISNT Board search committee, led by Kathy Duke, will oversee the process to select Pape Wilson’s successor. The position will be posted at www.cisnt.org/careers. Julie Rael, Chief Financial Officer, will be the main point of contact during the interim period. The board expects to select and place the new CEO by the early fall of 2022.
