Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) is extremely grateful to the Lewisville Noon Rotary for partnering with us to implement the first ever Rotary Reads program at Central Elementary, Lewisville Elementary, Rockbrook Elementary, and Southridge Elementary. In place of their regular meeting on December 7th, Rotarians dispersed amongst four CISNT elementary campuses and were paired up with students struggling with literacy skills. Rotarians brought bags filled with books and healthy snacks for the students to enjoy as they read one-on-one together. After each book was completed, Rotarians assisted the students with answering questions about the stories read. All students participating in the Rotary Reads program were able to take home and keep a tote of books. We are truly grateful for the service of our local Rotarians and look forward to their return at the next Rotary Reads event scheduled for March!
