What was your favorite subject to teach when you were in the classroom? First grade was always my favorite grade level but teaching P.E. was the most fun. Who wouldn’t love come to work and play games all day!
If you had chosen a different career path what would it have been? It is hard to imagine myself in a role other than education. My father was my junior high principal and I have known since then that I wanted to be in this field.
What advice would you give to a student that you wish someone had given to you at their age? I would tell students to enjoy all the experiences at school and remind them that one day they’ll look back at it and love their time here.
What does having a CIS Program on your campus mean to you? To your campus? It is comforting to me because it allows me to know that our kids are taken care of from all different angles. As educators, by nature, we worry about our kids and CIS offers us reassurance.
How does CIS help your campus reach its goals?
CIS helps in developing the whole child. Any goal we have, CIS plays a strong part; whether it is academic, emotional, or social, CIS helps in accomplishing it.
In what ways does your CIS Site Coordinator positively impact the students and/or campus?
Although she is new to our campus, Mrs. Galicia’s positive countenance and demeanor is uplifting and inspiring to our students.
