Tasha Moore Begins New Role as CEO of CISNT

Tasha Moore begins new role as Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of North Texas

Tasha Moore officially stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) on Tuesday, October 18 after being named lone finalist on September 30.

“I am honored to serve our as the new Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of North Texas.”  Moore said. “I am humbled at the opportunity to lead a truly amazing organization and deeply appreciative to the Board of Directors for entrusting me with this responsibility.”

Moore succeeds Ann Pape Wilson who stepped down in August. The decision was made after a national search and selection process conducted by the CISNT Executive Hiring Committee.

“The board is excited to have Tasha Moore as the new CEO. She has always shown great leadership and passion for CISNT. We look forward to having her lead CISNT as we work on our new Strategic Plan, growth and expanding our services,” said Kathy Travis, President of the Board of Directors.

Moore served as the Chief Operations Officer since 2017 before becoming the Chief Executive Officer. She began her career as a Site Coordinator for Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas in Waco.  Moore then took an administrative role as the Program Director for the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE), a collaborative afterschool program between Waco ISD and CIS of the Heart of Texas. In 2012, her family relocated to the North Texas area where she worked as a Site Coordinator at Hedrick Middle School in Lewisville ISD. Moore returned to an administrative role in 2013 as a Program Director for CIS of North Texas.

During her tenure with CISNT, Moore has helped to expand services to students including establishing a mobile mental health and wellness services and expanding internship and AmeriCorps opportunities. On a national and state level, Moore has shared and published best practices when serving unaccompanied homeless youth and refugee populations.
