Congratulations, David & Suzanne Jasinski, 2026 Volunteers of the Year!

Congratulations to David and Suzanne Jasinski, the 2026 Communities In Schools of North Texas Volunteers of the Year!

Suzanne began mentoring at Mill Street Elementary School in 2020, and rose to the challenge of meeting with her student via Webex. Six years later, she continues to mentor a student, now in middle school, whom she first met virtually! Suzanne has mentored countless students, supported their academic work, provided a safe space to talk, and offered her advice when it was needed most. Through her engagement with Christ Child Society, she has spent a lot of time hosting on-campus events, including free book fairs and camp read-alongs.

Suzanne is all in for kids, so much so that two years ago she roped her husband, David, into mentoring students. Despite initial nerves, once David was paired with his first student, he knocked it out of the ballpark! In fact, David mentors multiple students, encouraging them to make good choices and good grades, and they are always excited to see him every single week. This year, a fourth-grade mentee told David that when he graduates from high school, he wants to take a picture with him in his cap and gown.

This year, Suzanne and David began working with ACE Afterschool, each supporting four students’ reading and comprehension skills. The Jasinskis are hard-working, consistent, and dedicated to making a difference by providing CISNT students with a safe place to learn and grow by fostering meaningful relationships with caring adults who are truly all in for kids.

We are honored to recognize Suzanne and David Jasinski as our Volunteers of the Year!
