The Mobile Site Coordinator brag for the month is about our new partners at North Central Texas College: Roxanne Del Rio-Associate Dean, Denton County Campuses and Jessica De Roche-Campus Director, Flower Mound Campus. Roxanne and Jessica hit the ground running with the Lewisville High School Communities In Schools program this fall. They were eager to plan field trips for our students, to help students apply for college, to educate students about careers, and to educate parents regarding the college process.
With their assistance, Lewisville High School hosted a Career Fair for all LHS students in October. Roxanne and Jessica used their community contacts to reach out to local employers and NCTC employees, asking them to come to the Career Fair and make students aware of potential job openings. Professionals from the Lewisville area participated in this event and connected students with job opportunities, educated students about available career training programs at NCTC, and gave the students an opportunity to practice valuable networking skills.
Over 150 LHS students attended the event and had a great time! I am so thankful for our partnership with North Central Texas College, and I look forward to working with them in the future! Thank you Roxanne and Jessica for helping us surround students with a community of support!!
