Meet Rickey Hayes
Rickey Hayes has spent over 20 years working with young people in afterschool settings, with 15 of these years dedicated to Communities In Schools of North Texas. He currently serves as Program Director of CISNT’s ACE Afterschool Programming.
Following his graduation from high school, Rickey discovered a passion for working with youth after working in residential summer camps. In pursuit of his passion, Rickey earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas, and went on to spend 11 years as a CISNT Site Coordinator at Strickland Middle School.
During his 11+ years with CISNT, Rickey has empowered countless students to stay in school and achieve in life by providing comprehensive, afterschool services and one-to-one support. On campus, Rickey has been a tireless and compassionate advocate for the children he works with, helping his students to navigate everything from academics to classroom conduct to healthy relationships and self-care. Rickey also serves on CISNT’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, acting as a discussion leader and providing guidance during organizational DEI training. Rickey believes in the mission of CISNT so much because of seeing it be fulfilled every day. Many of the students that Rickey has worked with over the years have graduated college, and some are currently Site Coordinators with the agency.
When he’s not at the CISNT office, Rickey loves to perform with his band and unwind with his favorite movies or shows.
