T.C. is a sophomore at Lewisville High School Killough Campus. This proud Chin student has been working for months to save enough money to purchase a drum kit. His goal was to buy a drum kit so that he could play with the worship band at his church.
After working all summer, T.C. had earned enough money to buy his drum kit. However, he had made a promise to himself to also donate $300 to his church to help other Chin refugees leave Burma and get to a safer place. This was not a promise that anyone else was forcing him to keep, nor was it something required of him. He simply made a promise to himself that he would donate his money to help others, and he followed through with that promise.
I am incredibly proud of T.C. and the way he cares for others. He is constantly looking for ways to help other students, and is currently the President of the Killough Chin Club, a campus group that is administered by Communities In Schools of North Texas. He is always encouraging other students to try their best and get help when they need it. The CISNT group at Killough has given T.C. a chance to meet some of the most at-risk students in his school. He is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
T.C. is the type of student who others will follow, and I am so proud that he has chosen to be a positive leader!
