A Positive Outlook

RojelioI want to brag on Rojelio, a freshman at Lewisville High School-Harmon Campus in Lewisville, TX. He is a very happy student who has a positive outlook on things regardless of his life situation. He is always very respectful, enthusiastic and committed to doing his best at all times. Rojelio surprises me and teaches me a very valuable lesson each day, which is to be happy and positive about who you are and what you have, and to be grateful no matter what.

Rojelio was diagnosed and has been living with a rare type of blood cancer. Growing up, he’s had several surgeries, painful treatments and hospital stays. He will be medically monitored and will continue taking medication for a while. Rojelio is so strong that no matter how much medication, how many surgeries, or how painful the treatments, he is always smiling, always ready to play soccer, and always have fun.

Rojelio is a student that needs ongoing supportive guidance and encouragement. However there are times where it feels like we can all learn more from him. His enduring strength, willpower, academic achievement and exemplary mannerism is why I brag about and feels so proud that he is a student I am privileged to work with.
