Becoming a Young Leader

This month, I would love to brag on one of my dual language 2nd graders here at Bridgeport Elementary. April is in her first year with Communities In Schools of North Texas, but she is already showing amazing growth.

Academically April is making wonderful, consistent progress and it is so encouraging to see. But what I would really love to brag on, is how her behavior has changed. I have seen her have the courage to stand up for her friends and let fellow students know how to treat others when we are participating in a CISNT group or just around school. She has made sure others feel included and that everyone knows how we should treat others and behave.

Seeing April take on this role so boldly has been a treasure to witness, and I cannot wait to see what her influence has on her peers. Keep up the great work, April!
