CISNT Holds 2021 Stay In School Banquet

Summer is almost here, and North Texas schools are in the final stretch of this one-of-a-kind school year. It was a challenging and unusual year, but our students, staff, volunteers, and educators went above and beyond to end the 2020-2021 school year on a strong note! To recognize their achievements, CISNT ended the month of April with our 2021 Stay In School Banquet

On Friday, April 30th, CISNT’s Community of Support gathered both in-person and virtually to celebrate the accomplishments and resilience of our incredible students, staff, volunteers, and educators.

This year’s Educator of the Year award went to Cornelius Q. Anderson, Principal at Ginnings Elementary School. Mr. Anderson promotes inclusivity to make his campus a safe and productive space for staff and students, and demonstrates his commitment to students by ensuring that all campus staff work together to meet student needs. Thank you, Mr. Anderson, for all that you do!

The 2021 CISNT Student of the Year award was given to Brandon Daugherty, a 7th grade student at Chisholm Trail Middle School. In spite of all he has faced this year, Brandon’s positive attitude and resilience have shown through. He has gone above and beyond to be an excellent athlete, student, and older brother to his siblings. We know that with the help of Mr. Hooper and his Community of Support, Brandon has a bright future ahead.

Programming ended with an incredible speech by CISNT alumna Moramay Arriaga, who shared her CIS journey and reunited with the Site Coordinators who changed her life. Moramay says, “I’m proud to say that within these past 11 years I went from becoming a student in CIS to a teacher for CIS and now a 2nd grade teacher right here in my own community.” Moramay, we are so proud of all that you have accomplished, and we can’t wait to see what you do next!

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the stakeholders who attended our Stay In School Banquet and showed their support for our programs. We also want to express our gratitude for all our incredible sponsors who made this event possible. With the help of our stakeholders and sponsors, we raised over $60,000 for North Texas students!

Thank you for being #AllInForKids!
