Following Her Brother’s Example

NandiNandi is a very quiet tenth grader at Lewisville High School-Ben Harmon Campus that has really come out of her shell. When she first came to the CIS office she was afraid to talk and she was afraid to have other people see her.

Nandi has been through a lot growing up, really affecting her self-esteem and confidence. She reached out to CIS after she saw that her older brother made a big improvement through CIS services when he was at Harmon. Nandi’s brother is a senior at Lewisville High School who will be graduating this school year in part due to the support he received from CIS.

CIS provided Nandi with help on social services, college & career readiness and supportive guidance via CIS mentorship program and summer camp program. She participated in the Black History Month program last school year, and she recently applied to the National Honor Society.

Nandi is also part of the CIS College and Career Bridges program and is currently seeking to do more school activities. She is looking at several colleges and plans to attend at four year university. Nandi deserves to be bragged about because of her courageous attitude and positive outlook in life.
