Our interns are a valued resource for Communities In Schools of North Texas. Today, we highlight Cecily Johnson, a Family Studies Intern from the University of North Texas.
Johnson interns at Hedrick Elementary in Lewisville, TX, under the supervision of Josh Nunley, CIS North Texas Site Coordinator.
Johnson is paired with five students to individually mentor and leads two different groups. The Fourth Grade Girls Group has has especially taken to Cecily. She has developed and implemented a character development curriculum to provide supportive guidance.
“I have no doubt that (the students’) significant growth will occur through Cecily’s leadership,” said Nunley.
Interns such as Cecily Johnson help us leverage our resources and form positive relationships with our students.
