Learning Coping Skills

Ty’Rece, a fourth grader at Rivera Elementary in Denton, TX, has been doing wonderful work to improve himself! He joined CISNT through a desire to work on his behavior at school, and I have had the pleasure of seeing him learn new coping skills and gain perspective to better understand his peers.

He comes into lunch group every week ready to work. Even though he sometimes gets frustrated, he is getting better at finding his words to express his feelings instead of quickly reacting to a situation in a negative manner.

Though we still have things to work on, it’s encouraging to see his drive to work on his behavior. I am very proud of the work he has done so far and am so excited to see what else he gets done this year!
