Christy Merrill mentors Yessenia, a fourth grader at Lewisville Elementary in Lewisville, TX. She comes every week to meet with her mentee and always makes sure to bring an activity that Yessenia will enjoy. Christy works very hard to model positive behaviors for Yessenia, develop her social skills and guide her to make positive choices in class and at home.
Even though Yessenia was reserved when they first began to meet, she has begun to open up much more, communicate her problems and looks forward to their weekly meetings.
Last November, Mrs. Merrill volunteered to be matched with additional students and has since began mentoring one of our Kindergarten students! I appreciate the dedication that Christy has for her students at Lewisville Elementary. Thank you, Christy Merrill!
