Amber Shattuck joined the CISNT team as an intern in 2007 at Rivera Elementary. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work from University of North Texas in 2007 and her Master’s in Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington in 2013. Amber worked as a CISNT Site Coordinator at the elementary, middle and high school levels across Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD and Little Elm ISD between 2007 and 2013. She was privileged to work in volunteer management and administration during her master’s level internship for Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2013, where she fell in love with connecting volunteers to children in need. Amber then served as the CISNT Director of Volunteers from 2013-2020 before stepping down to part time to spend more time with her children.

Amber now has the best of both worlds, continuing to help local students connect with their community of support through CISNT, while being available to volunteer at her kids’ schools and drive them all over Highland Village to their various activities. Amber is married to her high school sweetheart and lives with their two children and four animals. When she isn’t working, Amber loves reading, gardening, being outside, and being with her family.
