Meet Jason Matias

Jason Matias first served as an AmeriCorps Member with CISNT in 2021 at Lewisville High School and returned as an ACE Site Coordinator at Lakeland Elementary in 2022. Before coming to CISNT, Jason helped develop safe learning environments for students of all ages working in other after school programs in McKinney and Denton for several years since graduating from Allen High School in 2017 and the University of North Texas with his Bachelors in Social Work in 2021. Jason has come to love the work of an after school program and thoroughly enjoys supporting students academically and socially as they develop over the years.

Jason serves as the Technology and Data Coordinator for After School programs. In this role, Jason is responsible for data management and assisting in training and onboarding of part-time staff at after school campuses across Denton County. This position offers Jason the exciting opportunity to equip after school teachers with the tools necessary to facilitate enrichment activities for students in elementary and middle schools, as well as collaborate with Afterschool Site Coordinators and Leadership staff to ensure appropriate facilitation of after school activities.

In his free time, Jason enjoys playing video and tabletop games with friends, cooking and spending time with family.
