I would like to recognize two organizations that volunteer for Communities In Schools at Central Elementary in Lewisville ISD.
Judy Tanner, who is a member of Garden Ridge Church of Christ, coordinates with her church to provide food baskets for our families on the Food 4 Kids program. Judy and her husband collected all the food baskets for us and delivered them to Central Elementary for the spring break holiday. Judy even worked additional hours at the school, sorting baskets after she was finished preparing the Food 4 Kids bags.
Blake Archer, a student at Flower Mound High School and Breakfast Buddies mentor, also coordinated with the Flower Mound High School Spanish Honor Society to collect food baskets for our families. Blake was very responsible and professional throughout the entire process and made sure that he delivered the food early to Central to ensure that our families received them.
Due to the generosity of these Garden Ridge Church of Christ and the Flower Mound High School Spanish Honor Society, we were able to provide food and much needed household items, to 29 families in need of food assistance over spring break. The support of such caring individuals allows us to meet the needs of our students and families. I am truly grateful to all those who help make our program successful!
